Bandar Seri Begawan - Some 40 members of the Army Cadets Platoon of Universiti Brunei Darussalam (PKTUBD) took part in recreational activities at Bukit Shahbandar yesterday, as a bonding exercise for its members.
According to the Vice Chairman of PKTUBD, Hj Ahmed Shaheeb Hj Fathiuzzaman, this was part of the platoon's semester break activities for the first and second intake.
Among the activities held yesterday were 'icebreaking', `word passing', 'blind-drawing' and many other team-building related activities.
"Previously, we conducted other activities such as marching courses, shooting course, survival course as well as a first-aid course, where we invited non-commission officers from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) as our instructors," said Hj Ahmed Shaheeb.
Also present during, yesterday's event was the Chairman of PKTUBD, Abdul Azim Hj Abd Rahman and Nor Hasnol Hj Mohd Hamdani as advisor, as well as other committee members. The event was also to bid farewell to three instructors of PKTUBD for their outstanding contributions over the years.
Now with its second intake, the PKTUBD has received an overwhelming response from the UBD undergraduates. The PKTUBD strives to instill self-discipline as well as to create a sense of belonging in a regimented lifestyle. The PKTUBD has been recognised as a uniform body in Brunei and has had the privilege to march alongside other bodies during the National Day celebration. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
